The Columbus Project screens employees for metabolic syndrome looking at the following indicators: blood pressure, cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, waist measurement and hemoglobin A1C. |

We also want to reach the children in the community. If they start exercising and eating healthy at a young age, they are likely to maintain a healthy lifestyle. |

The Foundation is always performing clinical research trials. All of them center around diabetes and related endocrine disorders. Participants have to meet certain criteria to participate in a study and the studies help the patient as well as the community, evolve and improve certain areas of healthcare, particularly in the area of endocrinology. We currently have the following studies open at this time: |

Microsoft Be Well Program is another program targeted at middle school students. The Columbus Research Foundation received a grant from the Microsoft Be Well Fund, one of only 15 recipients in the country. |

The Medicare Diabetes Screening Project is an extension of The Columbus Project where the Columbus Research Foundation staff educates seniors, sixty-five and older, on metabolic syndrome as well as Medicare coverage, to include: diabetes screenings, supplies, equipment and further testing if you already have diabetes. |
